Murder Mystery 2’s Summer Update 2026 went live on July 23, bringing a new seasonal lobby, a map called Pier, and a quest system built around a currency called Shells. The event is set to run until August 23, giving players about a month to work through it before everything reverts back to the standard game.

Like previous summer events, this one centers on a new mystery box holding fresh Godly weapons, along with a limited Robux bundle for anyone who’d rather skip the grind. Nikilis has also hinted at a bigger release later this year, which is likely why this event is running shorter than last year’s.

In this article, we’ll explore everything included in the MM2 Summer Update 2026, from the new map and Shell system to the items available in the mystery box and bundle.

Summer Box ’26 and New Godly Weapons

The Summer Box ’26 is the core box tied to this event, and it costs 120 Shells or 60 Gems to open. Inside, the main pull is Icecream, a Godly knife with an ice cream cone handle and a Neapolitan-style blade, which comes with a chance to drop as its Chroma counterpart, Chroma Icecream. Chroma Icecream is the rarest possible pull from the box and lands far less often than the base Godly.

Since Icecream can’t be earned any other way while the event is live, prices tend to move fast once players start trading it. Running a quick check on the mm2 values list before agreeing to any trade is worth doing, since values for brand-new items shift constantly in the first few weeks after release.

Beach Bundle

For players who’d rather not rely on box odds, the Beach Bundle offers a direct way to get both new weapons. It costs 3,399 Robux and includes Beachy, Sands, and the bundle-exclusive Ocean Effect. Players who only want one of the two weapons can also buy Beachy or Sands separately for 1,699 Robux each.

Buying the bundle outright guarantees the base weapons, but it doesn’t guarantee the Chroma variants. Chroma Beachy and Chroma Sands are still just a chance tied to the same Robux purchase, not something you can pull from the mystery box.  Some players end up trading spare bundle items for a Chroma instead of grinding boxes themselves. If you’re going that route, it’s worth running the trade through an mm2 trade checker first, since prices on new items can swing a lot depending on how much hype the event is getting that week.

When Does the Event End?

The Summer Update 2026 is scheduled to end on August 23. Once that happens, the seasonal lobby, the Pier map, Shell Quests, and the Summer Box ’26 all get pulled from the game and won’t be playable again until next year’s event, if MM2 brings back the same rotation.

The weapons themselves don’t disappear though. Icecream, Chroma Icecream, Beachy, and Sands all stay in the game permanently. Once players have them, they just move from ‘obtainable through the event’ to ‘obtainable only through trading.’ That shift usually pushes values up, especially for Chroma Icecream, since the only way to get one after August 23 is trading for it directly with another player.

New Summer Lobby and Pier Map

The update swapped out the standard lobby for a summer-themed version for the duration of the event, giving the game a different look while players wait in the queue or check their inventory. Alongside the new lobby, MM2 also added Pier, a new map that joins the rotation for regular matches.

Pier plays like any other MM2 map in terms of rules. Murderer, Sheriff, and Innocents all follow the same setup as usual, but the new layout adds fresh sightlines and hiding spots that change how rounds play out compared to older maps. Both the lobby and the map are tied to the event, so they’ll be removed once the Summer Update ends on August 23.

Shells and Daily Quests

Shells are the main currency for this year’s event, and they replace Beach Balls from previous summers. Unlike past events, Shells aren’t scattered around the map for players to pick up directly. Instead, players collect coins during matches, and those coins go toward completing quests that reward Shells once finished.

There are three quest categories running at once: Daily, Weekly, and Event. Daily Quests are the main source of Shells and reset each day, while Weekly quests hand out extra Shells on top of that for players who keep up with them. Event quests round out the set, but reward emotes and effects instead of Shells.  Since the Summer Box ’26 costs 120 Shells to open, staying on top of daily quests is the fastest way to rack up enough for repeated openings before the event ends on August 23.

Final Words

The MM2 Summer Update 2026 runs from July 23 to August 23, and packs a full month of content around the new Pier map, the Shells system, and the Summer Box ’26. Between grinding daily quests for Icecream and deciding on the Beach Bundle for Beachy and Sands, most players will have chased one or the other, if not both, before the event wraps up.

Since Icecream can’t be earned any other way while the event is live, prices tend to move fast once players start trading it. Running a quick check on the mm2 values list before agreeing to any trade is worth doing, since values for brand-new items shift constantly in the first few weeks after release.
